งานวิจัย และนวัตกรรมเข้ามาสร้างมูลค่าเพิ่มให้กับสินค้าอาหารไทย ปัจจุบันประเทศไทยยังมีศักยภาพสูงในฐานะผู้ผลิตและผู้ส่งออกอาหารสำคัญของโลก ทั้งจากความเข้มแข็งของภาคเกษตร วัตถุดิบที่มีคุณภาพ ความหลากหลายทางชีวภาพ และจุดแข็งด้านอาหารไทยที่ได้รับการยอมรับในระดับสากล แต่สิ่งสำคัญในระยะต่อไป คือ การต่อยอดศักยภาพดังกล่าวสู่การพัฒนาอุตสาหกรรมอาหารแห่งอนาคต หรือ Future Food
